Alcohol Education Programme

Thursday morning 10.00am – 11.30am

The Alcohol Education Programme is for service users who want to understand more about alcohol and its effects on them, their physical and mental health and people around them.

This programme is run over a 5 week period, on a weekly basis for 1.5 hours. The target group is wide ranging - from individuals who are concerned about the amount they drink or the frequency they drink but are not sure if they have a problem, to people who have identified they have an issue and feel it will be helpful to learn more about alcohol and what it is doing to them. All groups are run so people have time to discuss and ask questions about the topic of the week. The topics that are included in the programme are:

1 - What does alcohol do for us?

2 - How alcohol affects you Physically, Mentally, Emotionally.

3 - Alcohol and the Family.

4 - How we can make changes when living with Alcohol Problems?

5 - The process of Addiction.

The programme is structured in such a way that participants can join on any week.
