This group is for individuals who have recently completed a medically supervised or individually managed Alcohol Detox or for those who have sustained a period of sobriety of greater than 4 weeks.This support group aims to provide information and coping skills to maintain sobriety.
Group Day & Time: Wednesday 2.30pm-3.30pm
Venue: ZOOM Meeting
This group runs over 12 weeks and is aimed at supporting individuals to maintain their sobriety. Attention is drawn to factors that trigger a relapse, how to identify them and how to cope with cravings for alcohol. This programme is run in conjunction with Dublin Simon residential detox programme, therefore service users are a good mix of people undergoing treatment and post-detox/treatment.
Group members are encouraged to share and learn from each others' coping strategies, as well as the group facilitators. Individuals are welcome to join this group at any point once that have met with a project worker.
Due to COVID19 restrictions, this group will be delivered weekly over Zoom until further notice. Details of the meeting will be sent to you on the day of the group.
