Community Response is recruiting for a Director
Community Response is a primary Alcohol and Liver Health Service offering free and confidential advice and support to individuals in Ireland concerned about their alcohol use, liver health and hepatitis. Established in 1990, Community Response has established itself as a key player sectorally in the response to drug and alcohol addiction in Ireland, building strong relationships with community, State and corporate partners. We place the service user at the heart of everything we do, providing research-based holistic and scalable approaches with proven efficacy. We provide credible voice for vulnerable communities at community and national level, and are proud to have a strong culture of team development.
THE POSITION
Reporting to the Chair of the Board, the Director has responsibility for overseeing delivery of high-quality services to people living with problem alcohol use and polydrug use to ensure best practice in healthcare management. The appointee will lead a motivated and diverse team to ensure the achievement of strategic and operational objectives, while supporting the Board to continue to ensure organisational sustainability. The Director will engage with effective advocacy and awareness programmes to advocate for supports and information for service users. They will create a culture within the organisation that supports the values of Community Response – honesty, respect, safety, dignity, consistency, and advocacy.
REQUIREMENTS
Suitably qualified and interested candidates will hold prior experience in a Leadership role with an exemplary track record of delivering services to marginalised groups preferably in a not-for-profit/NGO and/or public sector environment. The appointee will be a self-starter coupled with the governance, public presentation and advocacy skills required to fulfil this crucial role. They will have knowledge of organisational standards, governance, financial oversight, and legal responsibilities in the NGO sector. Core competencies will include leadership, strategic vision, and organisational awareness, coupled with financial acumen and the ability to contribute at all levels. Candidates must be exceptional communicators with the capacity to passionately engage, inspire, and influence stakeholders in the delivery of the vision of Community Response.
